Introduction

Drop a weight of 0.84 kg (29.5 oz) from a height of 67 mm (2.625 inches) or any other specified height (up to a maximum of 200 mm (8 inches)), and evaluate based on the degree of button breakage.

The button impact strength tester consists of a bearing sleeve, which is fitted with a standard mass impact head. This head is used to drop from a specified height to impact the button sample. The buttons are placed at the center of the base metal platform according to their Leni size and are clamped using a positioning fixture. The impact strength is evaluated by the weight of the heavy object and the height of the drop.

A magnifying glass with a magnification of 5 times can be used to examine the rupture condition of the button after it has been impacted.

The size of the button head can be measured using a caliper or a micrometer.

Scope of Application

Button Impact Resistance Tester, capable of testing the impact resistance of plastic buttons and adhesive buttons. It is used to assess the load-bearing capacity of all types of buttons (with a diameter of 10mm or above) during clothing manufacturing or daily use, regarding both strong pulling and impact.

Testing method

1. Measure the neck size of the button using a micrometer (1 neck size = 0.635 mm)

2. Place the impact head at the appropriate height. The holes on the bearing sleeve indicate different heights.

3. Place the sample face-up at the center of the double-ring groove.

4. Release the impact head

5. Lift the impact head and remove the button sample

6. The damage condition of the sample is evaluated through the visual evaluation device: cracking, fragmentation or fracture.
